Since 2014, COWI has operated Denmark’s Digital Street Imagery (DDG) as an “on demand” service that produces high-density panoramas of Danish streets for professional use.
In 2014-15 more than 10,000 kilometres of public roads were covered in 10-12 municipalities.
Now COWI performs a full-scale DDG scan every second year and offers access to processed databases on a licensed basis.
DDG 2016 resulted in 15 million panoramas covering 104,000 kilometres at intervals of 7 metres – a much higher coverage range, density and actuality comparing to similar services offered by other providers.
All faces and number plates are blurred in all images in the DDG databases to protect private information.
All DDG images can now be accessed on a licensed basis via “COWI Multi Viewer”, which is a self-developed tool by COWI for image/geo data sharing and management.
